Launched in November 2022, this colossal vessel has a gross tonnage of 183,521 GT and spans a remarkable 1,130 feet in length. The infographic above shows illustrations of all of the Carnival ships by size, from biggest to smallest. As the tonnage and guest capacity varies slightly between ships, I have used the averages.

The ship also features delectable dining at the Seafood Shack, Shaq’s Big Chicken and Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse. Key attractions include the thrilling BOLT roller coaster, the WaterWorks aqua park, the serene adults-only Serenity Retreat sundeck and the NASA-inspired Space Cruisers programme for kids. Carnival Jubilee has the travel pros and press about as excited as cruise fans. To find uncharted flavors, never before seen on land, we had to dive deep. Far below the waves we met a mermaid who swims the depths of the oceans to find the long-lost treasures of ancient civilizations.

In a Carnival Liberty Junior Suite you'll find everything there is to love about a suite, including VIP check-in, a walk-in closet, a full-size balcony... With more space for stretching out indoors, plus a large balcony for kicking back outdoors, try an Ocean Suite to experience private, luxurious relaxation. Ocean Suites also include VIP check-in, walk-in closet and bathroom with whirlpool tub. Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you’re looking to cruise aboard Carnival Liberty. CARNIVAL JUBILEE: NEXT-LEVEL FUN, POWERED BY LNG

The ship was the first in the fleet to receive all the FUN 2.0 upgrades during a huge refurbishment in 2011. Updates included the hugely popular Guy’s Burger Joint, which has since become an important food venue across the fleet. Carnival Liberty’s inaugural cruise departed on July 20, 2005.

Carnival Magic - All Deck Plans

It is part of the Fantasy class and sailed its inaugural cruise on December 6, 1998. Carnival Paradise underwent a dry dock in October 2023 and is fully updated with all the latest Carnival features. As a Fantasy class ship, she might be an older type of ship, but it can often offer the best experience. With fewer passengers, guests usually have a great vacation.

The Mardi Gras also boasts the exhilarating BOLT roller coaster, ensuring thrill-seekers are in for a treat. Guests can engage in spirited games at Family Feud Live or sip tropical concoctions at the RedFrog Tiki Bar. The WaterWorks aqua park promises endless aquatic fun, while the Excel suites offer an elevated experience with exclusive Loft 19 access. The cost of a Carnival cruise isn't directly correlated with size. You won't find that the bigger the ship, the more the cost.

What is the smallest Carnival ship?

The ship debuted Carnival Kitchen, a first-in-fleet culinary center that offers more than 15 different interactive cooking, baking, and decorating demonstrations. Besides the obvious size differences between big and small cruise ships, smaller ships also tend to be older than their larger counterparts. Smaller ships don't have space to offer as many attractions as huge vessels, but Carnival invested $500 million over five years to make its fleet more uniform, regardless of ship size.

Venice Class – Ex-Costa Cruises Ships

Following these newest ships, size drops drastically to 135,225 GRT and 135,156 GRT, which are the sizes of acquired ships Carnival Venezia and Carnival Firenze. The first in her class, Carnival Spirit, was built in Finland to sail through the Panama Canal and offer a cruising experience not only in the Caribbean but also on other continents. The ship has 12 passenger decks and joined the fleet in 2001.

This is particularly dramatic when looking at Carnival's newest planned ship, the Carnival Celebration! Here's a visual representation showing the smallest of the fleet vs this new behemoth. Initially built in 2019 for Costa Cruises, this ship joined the Carnival fleet in 2023.

Carnival Corporation continues to make strides in its sustainability efforts. The company reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by over 10% compared to its peak year of 2011, despite a 30% increase in capacity. Additionally, customer deposits reached a record high of $6.4 billion in the fourth quarter, surpassing the previous record by 25%. This indicates a high level of consumer confidence and anticipation for future cruises.

The Destiny-class platform continued to be used in various iterations all the way to the Carnival Splendor in 2008. The same year the veteran ship Festivale, the last of the original second-hand fleet, was retired. They’re not concerts, they’re not exactly plays… these shows are something else entirely. Every performance is built on amazing songs you know and love, presented like you’ve never seen before.

In 2001, the new Panamax size Spirit class debuted with the Carnival Spirit, the first of the four-ship class within the Carnival fleet. In 1993, Carnival began to get rid of their older second-hand tonnage, and sold their first ship, Mardi Gras, after 21 years of service with the line. The Carnivale followed the same year, going to newly created Carnival subsidiary Fiesta Marina Cruises. Here’s the most affordable way to experience Carnival Jubilee™, without cutting even a single corner in the comfort department.

While she’s not as large as some of the other recent ships from Carnival, she still offers plenty to see and do for the whole family. Guests can experience the adrenaline rush of the BOLT roller coaster, engage in Family Feud Live, or unwind at the travel-inspired Latitudes bar. The WaterWorks aqua park promises splashing fun, while dining options range from the exotic Bonsai Sushi and upscale Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse to Rudi’s Seagrill and the ever-popular Shaq’s Big Chicken. Excel-class ships have some features that you won’t find on other Carnival ships, such as the first-ever rollercoasters at sea.

The ship measures 963 feet (294 meters) in length and falls in line as number 24 among Carnival's 26 active cruise ships. At full capacity, the Carnival Spirit holds 3,540 passengers. That includes 2,610 cruise vacationers and 930 staff members.
